Dear Myself,

In order to not forget the experience at school camp, I write this letter today.

Tuesday last week basically started with a bus ride, it was long, but the scenery was good. We travelled past Hammer towards Boyle river lodge. Yeah, I was lucky enough to get a lodge on this camp #Glamping!
I was pretty hungry on the trip, I hadn't had breakfast and when lunch came I was starving and hadn't packed lunch. Mrs McLaren had given me some of their last night's dinner of lasagna. I got some funny looks for that. Later, we were put into groups and activities began. Our group had: Myself, Caleb, Jordon, Claudia, Josh, Mercedes, Bella, Luigi, Moses, our student leader James and our outdoor instructor, Natasha. We had a powerhouse group!

After a few name games and team building exercises we grouped up and chose a group name... The Three Dragons! Except you say it in the most 'Irish' way possible, and it ends up sounding like 'Tree Dragons!'. We also have a really good buoy, which we wrote on our little group guidelines to keep us 'afloat at the top!'.

Next up was a short, but sometimes steep walk to our first activity, a skipping one. The other activities were but building and trying to get everyone on soaked log without slipping off, in alphabetical order.
We spent the day doing activities, before having a well deserved dinner of pasta bake and apple crumble, custard and ice cream for dessert. But that's not all, after dinner when we thought we were safe, but there was another activity, which required walking!
Yes, once we had walked in the dark to a forest, with a rectangular piece of carpet. Out next activity was called Solo, where you sat in the dark without your torch alone for 45 minutes. I participated in this, and it ended up feeling like only 10 minutes!

Oh yeah, there is another 'person' who is forever part of our group. Gabriel.
But he comes later.

I was the first girl up the next day! All ready for breakfast, toast and cereal. It was the day in which we would do a long all day activity. We walked to a river. Oh to speak about Gabriel, he is an 8 year old elf which me and Josh built our hut for, he is sneaky and annoying.

At the river we stopped for hot chocolate and biscuits before harnessing up and crossing the raging river. I managed to get across without falling, but I almost did at the end!
We walked on through the damp and fresh forest to firelighting.

Our last activity for the day was orienteering, which we split into smaller groups. I was with Bella and Moses. We found the first few in a couple of minutes, but took forever on number 50, which ended up being right under our noses and we had walked past it dozens of times. But Bella was too commited to give up, she and James went after it. They found it in the end, which was good as it created something funny to laugh about.
Dinner was mince and pasta, a seemingly common theme in our meals.

Instead of making one huge story, I will make a short story for Gabriel.

Cheers,

Myself.
